Labor Mobility - Registration Pathway

Important: For Labour Mobility applicants, registration and licensing fees are covered by the Nova Scotia Government for your first year (or partial year) of licensure in Nova Scotia. You do not pay these fees to NSRPT for that period. |
Who This Pathway Is For
This pathway is for physiotherapists who are currently licensed in another Canadian province or territory.
Eligibility
You must:
- Hold a current and valid physiotherapy licence, in good standing, in another Canadian province or territory.
- Have a licence category that matches one offered by NSRPT:
- A full practising licence → Practising Register in Nova Scotia.
- A resident or conditional licence → Conditional Register – Resident in Nova Scotia.
- Provide proof that you are legally allowed to work in Canada.
- Meet all application requirements listed below.

What You’ll Need
- Government-issued photo identification.
- Proof that you are legally allowed to work in Canada.
- Regulatory history verification from your current Canadian regulator (regulatory history form).
- A Vulnerable Sector Check, including a Criminal Record Check, completed within 6 months of submitting application.
- Proof of professional liability insurance.
- Completed declarations about your professional and legal history.
If you are applying to the Conditional Register – Resident, you must also provide:
- An approved supervision agreement
- A signed offer of employment in Nova Scotia.
Fees
For your first year, registration and licensing fees are paid by the Nova Scotia Government.
You do not pay these fees to NSRPT for that period.
